Totally agree, super street has been a real joke of a rag lately, but the April issue was acctually informative.
I liked the step-by-step how-to on the roll cage install.

I'm not the best writer but I do know when I feel I've read through something that had very little value to me. I do hardware reviews on the net about computer stuff so I've more or less learned how to offer people something to read that's a little interesting and at least informative. These magazines either give little information in car/part reviews or try to "market" the product they're reviewing vs. telling it like it is. SCC for example had some before and after tuner cars that they reviewed. They mentioned the differences but in no way helped me feel the difference between the two cars for real or what in detail was done to make the cars "better". WHy should I pay x thousand of dollars to have y tuner make it badass? They also review upgrades in a "not-so-controlled" environment where they could have had so many other factors contribute to the upgrade looking as if it did more than it should have or less. The thing that bugs me the most however is the fact that they review these "pretty" cars that have more show than go and even then, they don't detail the parts of the car or share how much power was made or timeslips. AHh, and this red civic in one of the last SCC's or Super Streets had a guy place his tack below and to the right of his radio. What the f' is that? Sorry Officer I was watching my tach while I was driving and ran into this pole on accident. If you're going to rely on the shift light that much, nuke the tach dumbass. If they could REALLY review cars and upgrades, I'd probably continue buying these magazines but I'm getting really sick of the ones available. Now an internet publication with REAL reviews.....that has possibilities.

this months SS was actually worth reading do you believe it The articles on N/A motor building and the write ups on the Si Challeng gave me something todo rather then flip through and toss it. This is the first month in a long while that I wasn't disappointed with the mag. What do you guys think? Maybe it's just me

On another note...

It's funny I talked with someone considering FI for these cars a few nights ago. Went into my current spiel about it costs a grip of cash to in one sense go nowhere. JRSC this, turbo that.
By the end of the conversation I was just like "dude buy a Supra and do some 1500K mods and run high 12's AND still run on pump gas. With MORE reliability than our setups. Or there always is the F-body...

Does anyone notice how the people posting alot right now are the NEW GUYS? The "old guard" knows all this already and are looking elsewhere for more performance.

I was bored one day at work so I bought the April issue of Super Street. The content didn't really impress me from a performance standpoint. A little more information on how fast that Supra TT is would have been nice. The same goes for the AWD S2000...performance numbers? When I look at data I want to see straight data...not beat around the bush data like "476 Horsepower Per Liter" (which is only mentioned on the cover) or "1.7 seconds off it's 0-60 time". And what's up with those gay "fast facts" bars in the articles? Where the hell did the term "ice" come from to describe radio equipment? This magazine is definitely an all show and no go magazine written by ricey yo boys for ricey yo boys. Needless to say, I'll never buy Super Street again.

First I must say that I am by no means saying that SS is a great mag. But I am not talking about the April, but the May edition of the mag. As for the Supra, I think it is way more show (look at the stereo install, talk about heavy) then go and I don't think it was a TT so that is why (besides that fact that the mag usually blows a$$) they didn't go into it. The S2000 is very unclear and someone actually called them on it in the May edition but they still didn't answer the question of how they got the number that they published, hell, they probably don't know. But I have to give it up to them for using there head on the Si challenge and using JUN to get tons of free horsepower from labor and not blowing it on parts. It is kind interesting to see a all motor car take out not one but 3 other SC cars. Who'd a thunk it? Well if you guys have a chance and might be interested in all motor insights pick up the May mag, but be forewarned, anything after that will probably suck "ICE" is In Car Electronics

The S2000 in the april issue was an April Fool's joke! It was an R/C car!!! Sheesh, you guys. I can understand not knowing who HPI is, but come on, the pictures were so cheezy looking you could tell that the headlights and side graphics were STICKERS. Besides that, do you think anyone could really build a 950 HP AWD S2000 in 4 hrs?? You guys should read a little closer next time. Maybe someone is fooling you about the performance parts you swear by - like the JRSC! J/K
